Thanveer Ahmed who was earlier heading Integra Apparels, a diversified textile and apparel manufacturing company in Bangalore as President, has joined the Opex Group Textile Division, a US $ 200 million company of Bangladesh, as its new COO.
Taking over his new profile Thanveer said, “Bangladesh is a great potential country for textiles and apparels in our sub-continent, at least for the next one decade. In India, every day is a new challenge… from bringing down tailor attrition levels to minimizing cost. Further, Indian factories are becoming expensive due to wage increase, but the productivity never improves, so factories have become uncompetitive. I felt this was the right time to take the call to move to Bangladesh.”
Thanveer possesses complete knowledge of all functional areas like production, accounts/finance, HR and marketing; prior to a stint with Integra, he has also worked for Mast Industries in Bangalore for about three years.
