If market sources are to be believed, Sotoreves SL, a Spanish company, wants 1 lakh pieces of tie and dye and printed shirts, and what’s notable is that a Noida-based apparel manufacturer is in the process of finalising the business.
Besides, Lizzard from South Africa, which has 180 stores, wants to buy women’s clothing, while a buyer from Greece is looking for men’s garments.
Both the buyers are new for Indian companies as told by market insiders to Apparel Resources.
Similarly, few more buyers from the Czech Republic, Jordan, Mexico, Spain, Egypt, Greece, Turkey, Panama and South Africa, amongst others, have started negotiating with Indian companies.
Lalit Thukral, President of Noida Apparel Export Cluster, told Apparel Resources, “New buyers from various countries are in touch with apparel exporters and one of the main reasons for the same is that these buyers replace purchases from China.
The extended Covid lockdowns in China have restricted supplies, forcing buyers to look for other options to diversify risks.
Having zero-Covid policy, China has eased Covid restrictions in Shanghai after two months of lockdown, though the country still has lot of restrictions.
Few days back, Raja Shanmugham, President, Tirupur Exporters Association (TEA), also told Apparel Resources that Tirupur has witnessed few new buyers in recent months.
