In a move to support the textile industry of Pakistan to compete with the international competitors, formation of a committee to constitute a Policy Action Plan (PAP) has been announced in a meeting headed by the Commerce Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan. The meeting was attended by representatives of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Ministry of Textile Industry and All Pakistan Textile Mills Association. The Minister has asked the committee to deal with issues such as electricity tariffs, small taxes on value chain, lack of new investments, dumping and smuggling of textile goods, etc.
