The Golden Week, the annual holiday season of Japan, brings cheer to India’s garment exporters too, especially for Jaipur-based apparel manufacturers. According to pink city’s industry insiders, as compared to last year, this time there was at least 15 to 20 per cent more orders from Japan. Jaipur’s exporters were busy even to deliver shipment in the April month as some orders they received little late and due to Holi festivals and other reasons there was some delay in shipments too. This year Golden Week holidays were from 27th April to 6th May.
“Thanks to Golden Week as Jaipur has more order this year which kept busy to the city’s exporters. Now we are geared up for further seasons and preparing for upcoming sourcing event like India Trend Fair (ITF), Japan and IIGF.I observed that this time Jaipur’s exporters are comparatively more enthusiastic for the upcoming sourcing events.” – Aseem Singla, General Secretary, Garment Exporters Association, Rajasthan and Director, Fashion Images Overseas
Aseem has his major client base in Japan. It is pertinent to mention here that major business of Jaipur’s apparel exporters comes from Japan.
