Gandhinagar (Gujarat)-based Jinil Spinning seeks to start its embroidery unit soon in Kolkata.
The company seems inspired by the emergence of value-addition as one of the significant profit-making segments for the textile and apparel industry. It motivated the company to invest more in this domain.
Anirban Kumar Das, Director of Jinil Spinning, who is a textile engineer with 25 years of experience in the textile industry, shared with Apparel Resources, “We will have our embroidery unit in Kolkata. We will start as job workers for few months and later sell our own embroidered fabric. As we already have enough exposure in spinning, weaving and processing, we are starting with the embroidery division to target the final product segment. We will be investing nearly Rs. 50 lakh on this and production is due to start within a month.”
Jinil Spinning is extensively engaged in making of filtration cartridges.
Anirban also owns Ansu Meditech, which deals in products like cotton dental rolls, absorbent cotton wool, and absorbent cotton pleats (zig-zag). A large share of its business comes from the overseas markets. Jinil Spinning and Ansu Meditech together do an annual business of nearly Rs. 42 crore.
Anirban with his senior team members Pulok Roy, GM (Works), Jinil Spinning and Prima Naha, Director, Ansu Meditech even explored the latest embroidery technology for the unit at a garment technology fair held recently. Prima Naha will be the person responsible for the embroidery project.
