Panipat (India)-based Raj Group, a leading home furnishing exporter is aggressively working on the sustainability front. The company is investing in sustainable initiatives which includes zero liquid discharge (ZLD) facility and more use of various kinds of cotton in its wide range of products.
Sumeet Nath, Managing Partner of the company told Apparel Resources, “We are open in terms of sustainability budget. In the coming year, we are setting up a 500 KLD plant for ZLD, to increase use of recycled cotton, BCI cotton and GRS cotton in our products. This will help us grow our business.”

Raj Group, working with leading brands like Wsi, H&M, Target, Zara and Potterybarn, has generated 40 per cent of its electricity usage via solar rooftops and converted pet-coke boilers to LPG. It runs printing rotary machines through power generated by the LPG plant. The exporter also has rainwater harvesting system in place and is developing three big parks of around 5,000,00 sq. metres near his factory and planted 500 trees for fresh air.
Established in 1939, Raj Group believes in sustainable textile production. It was the first company to start spinning unit in Panipat and is exporting its products worldwide.
