Apparel and footwear retailer Woodland is mulling over expanding its reach in countries like Russia, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Canada and the UAE, as reported by a leading Indian daily.
Harkirat Singh, MD of the company said, “We are also open to franchisee formats for serious investors but for that we first have to come up with our own retail stores and make them a profitable enough model to be adapted by others.”

At present, Woodland has more than 600 outlets in India, and opened a dozen of international stores in Hong Kong over the last three years. The company aims to open at least 10 retail outlets worldwide in the next two years. “While we have grown at an average of 15-20 per cent y-o-y in the last two to three years, the outdoor category has grown exceptionally in the last five years where not just professionals but informal groups have also taken up adventure activities. The outdoor gears have also become a lifestyle item making our brand more popular among common people,” Singh added.
Over the time, Woodland has grown to be recognized internationally as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of extreme weather outdoor gear and outerwear. It offers an extensive line of footwear, performance apparel and outdoor gear.
