
VF Corporation, one of the world’s largest active-lifestyle companies, announced that Benno Dorer has been named its Interim President and Chief Executive Officer after Steve Rendle’s decision to retire from his position as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer.
Rendle who was appointed the CEO in 2016 and also served as the President for The North Face, said, “It has been an honour to lead VF as CEO over the last five years. I depart with the deepest gratitude for the extremely talented and dedicated global team at VF. I remain as confident as ever in VF’s tremendous potential and look forward to watching the company’s continued success.”
Dorer joined the VF Board in 2017 and has served as its Lead Independent Director since 2021 and as the Executive Chair of the Board and Chairman of the Board of The Clorox Company from 2021-2022 and 2014-2022 respectively.
Richard Carucci, the Interim Chairman of the Board said, “We are fortunate to have Benno lead VF while the Board conducts a search for a permanent CEO. He knows VF extremely well and has an excellent track record of generating strong business results in global consumer portfolio business.”
While extending their farewell to Rendle who has worked with VF Corporation for more than 25 years, the company reiterated that they have been seeking help from a leading executive search firm to evaluate the next potential chief executive officer from internal and external candidates in running for the post.
