Resale platform Vestiaire Collective has appointed industry veteran Rickie De Sole to its board of directors.
This strategic move aligns with the company’s plans to expand its US presence and pursue B Corporation certification. De Sole’s extensive industry experience and US base are expected to enhance Vestiaire Collective’s efforts to solidify its market position across the country.
“With her deep industry insights, Rickie will play an integral role on the board of Vestiaire Collective during a pivotal point in the company’s growth and will help accelerate our business globally,” said Fanny Moizant, co-founder and president of Vestiaire Collective.
De Sole brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Since January 2022, she has served as vice president and fashion director at Nordstrom. Her previous roles include executive fashion director at Vogue.com, fashion director at W Magazine, accessories director at Vogue Magazine, and PR positions at Prada. Additionally, De Sole has served on the boards of Rent the Runway and Thom Browne.
Recently, Vestiaire Collective has taken several steps to bolster its US operations, including relocating global CEO Maximilian Bittner to New York, establishing a new US-based team led by North America CEO Samina Virk, and introducing a 0% commission structure for US sellers. The company also launched a VIP Concierge Service in New York and organized exclusive celebrity closet sales, such as one by Oscar-winning actress and producer Jessica Chastain.
De Sole’s appointment also helps Vestiaire Collective achieve its goal of having 50% women on its board.
