At a time when not many fashion brands/retailers do not invest in human relation functions and do not have any human resources expert, Kontoor Brands, Inc. has gone ahead and hired one.
The US clothing firm has announced the appointment of Tammy Heller as Chief Human Resources Officer – effective from 29 September 2021.
Tammy will be responsible for developing and driving Kontoor Brands’ people strategy – an often overlooked aspect of business growth.
She will report to Scott Baxter, CEO and Chair of the Board, Kontoor Brands.
Besides overseeing basic human relation functions like compensation, HR systems, recruitment, onboarding, training and retention programmes, Tammy will also ensure to lead the firm as a high-performance and growth-mindset culture.
One of her core areas would be to translate business strategies into actionable people plans and elevating the firm as an employer of top choice.
We’re thrilled to announce the appointment of Tammy Heller as Kontoor’s new Chief Human Resources Officer. Tammy will be responsible for developing and driving our people strategy, succeeding Scott Shoener, who will retire at the end of 2021. https://t.co/HZn7lvyQv4 pic.twitter.com/jEiUWrwCuP

Elated over hiring a talent like Tammy, Scott Baxter said “Tammy brings an extensive track record of leading dynamic talent management programmes and human resources organisations.”
And that’s true! Heller comes from Perspecta, where she was serving as Chief Human Resources Officer and Senior Vice President since 2018. Prior to that, she served as Vice President, Global Human Resources at CGI.
