Stay-at-home apparels are being talked about a lot these days as every consumer seems to be interested in them these days – not surprising at all considering the current scenario!
Uniqlo, the fast fashion label from Japan, has also understood it very well, with its overall sales rising by 4.7 per cent in July, all thanks to huge demand for stay-at-home clothing.
Notably, the same-store sales for the brand too jumped by 4.4 per cent Y-o-Y in July and this also included its e-commerce sales.
While the loungewear sales saw a growth during July, oversized T-shirts and stretchy jogging pants too gained popularity among consumers, who have been working from home since last few months.
Business strategies are the only mode of survival in these tough times, and analysts believe Uniqlo’s continual focus on casual everyday apparels as well as its plan to further its e-commerce business will help the retailer combat the crisis easily.
It is worth noting here that Uniqlo witnessed its e-commerce sales grow by an impressive 26.2 per cent in June, when majority of stores were closed owing to lockdown.
Founded in 1971, Uniqlo is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fast Retail Co., Ltd., and generates revenue of nearly 865 billion Japanese yen.
