Weird Fish, the UK-based lifestyle apparel brand, has recorded a whopping 139 per cent jump in profits for the year 2021.
The jump in profit before tax from £1.8 million to £4.3 million (139 per cent increase) has been attributed by the retailer to digital overhaul. Meanwhile, the revenues rose by 71 per cent to £35.5 million for the year that ended 31 December 2021.
Notably, the overall e-commerce revenue surged by 74 per cent to £21 million compared to the previous year.
Elated over good profits, John Stockton, MD, Weird Fish, said that the digital overhaul has been central to Weird Fish’s success, and has helped establish the brand as a digital leader and innovator in the retail industry.
He added that Weird Fish is proud to have celebrated a record-breaking 2021 and is now all set to face new challenges and explore growth opportunities this year.
The brand also, reportedly, plans to launch a new business-to-business platform for wholesale customers.
Weird Fish is a lifestyle clothing and accessories retailer that was founded in 1993. It has 15 of its stores around the UK with more than 450 wholesale stockists too.
