Unique Business ID or UBID for businesses, as has been mooted by the Government to bring in the much-needed regularity in the e-commerce sector of Bangladesh, marred by allegations of malpractices, will be launched in the coming month.
According to State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak, UBID will be launched in February to bring stability in the digital commerce sector.
He made this observation after recently reviewing the initiatives taken by the Commerce Ministry to bring stability in the digital commerce sector with the technical assistance of the ICT department even as the review meeting was chaired by Senior Secretary of ICT Department NM Ziaul Alam and attended amongst others by e-Cab Director Chaldal Co-founder Zia Ashraf, A2I Technical Head Rezwanul Haque Jami and A2I Policy Advisor Anir Chowdhury.
Calling upon all digital traders to get registered, the State Minister for Information and Communication Technology, reportedly, maintained that anyone doing online business will also come under the law and if there is any complaint through any registered organisation, it has to be settled through CCMS.
It may be mentioned here CCMS or the Central Logistics Management System is a UBID grievance redressal process for digital business registration, which will be launched in February.
