In honour of Disney’s 100th anniversary, Tommy Hilfiger has collaborated with the world of Mickey and Friends to create a prep-heavy capsule collection called “Disney x Tommy.”
The collection scatters manga artwork of Mickey Mouse and his friends, including Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Goofy, Donald Duck, and Daisy Duck, across a series of whimsical silhouettes, reinterpreting collegiate fashion staples. The extensive collection features 94 items for men and women, 42 items for children, and 14 Adaptive designs, all of which feature Disney’s iconic characters on rugby shirts, chinos, and blazers. Additional elements include jacquard printing of a brand-new ‘TH’ monogram.
With hand-drawn sketches and ink blots, all-over prints pay respect to the original craft of Disney’s artisans, and Manga Mickey is seen moving through Hilfiger’s Ithaca stripe on shirts and shirt dresses alike. A cricket jersey and woven jumper are given life by Minnie’s trademark polka dots, and the Adaptive line offers T-shirts, polos and dresses with handy magnetic closures.
“An iconic anniversary, an iconic brand, and a collaboration with their most iconic characters – there is no better way to join fans around the world in celebrating Disney’s 100th anniversary,” said Hilfiger in a statement.
“Disney and Tommy Hilfiger are two beloved brands that have impacted culture on a global scale,” said Tasia Filippatos, President, Disney Consumer Products, Games and Publishing.
The line will be marketed through social media, key wholesale partners, key Tommy Hilfiger locations, shopDisney.com, tommy.com, and Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts.
