Target is holding its first-ever chain-wide denim take-back event. According to a press release, shoppers can use their Target Circle reward program to redeem a one-time 20 per cent off discount code for the purchase of new denim gear when they drop off worn denim items in stores from Sunday through 10th August.
Up to five products in any condition and from any brand may be recycled by customers. The promotional code is valid for both Target-owned brands including Cat & Jack, Goodfellow & Co., Wild Fable, and Universal Thread as well as national brands like Levi’s. Redeeming the 20 per cent discount offer is only possible during the week-long promotional period.
Target stated that its partners will recycle and use the donated denim for new projects. The corporation is promoting the take-back program as a chance for customers to make environmentally friendly decisions by assisting in the removal of unwanted clothing from landfills.
“Our new Denim Take Back Event is an easy way for families to give their used denim a new life,” Gena Fox, Target’s senior vice president of merchandising for apparel and accessories, said in a statement.
