The Hundreds, a well-known streetwear company, has disclosed the location of its newest flagship store: the metaverse.
In some.place, a metaverse platform that has changed to embrace e-commerce and offer engaging ways to participate in product drops, The Hundreds have announced the opening of an immersive 3D store. The Hundreds will serve as the first demonstration of how the platform manages brands and communities as the some.place private beta test launches.
The company’s co-founder, Bobby Kim, said in a statement that the virtual storefront is an imitation of its physical location in the Fairfax district of Los Angeles with the intention of giving fans an engaging and sociable purchasing experience.
The some.place storefront offers a level of depth and realism not found in metaverse game experiences like Decentraland and The Sandbox since it was rendered using Unreal Engine 5, the same programme that is used by many of the major creators in the video game industry.
The Hundreds will use its some.place location to promote special clothing releases that won’t be seen elsewhere, such as some that will only be made accessible to owners of the company’s own Adam Bomb Squad NFT line.
Additionally, users can receive incentives for both online and offline interactions, bridging the gap between the two facets of the brand’s presence.
The 2021-founded firm some.place has fully embraced its new direction as a platform where brands can go to create online stores and experiences for both physical and digital dropping.
Some.place will first roll out its smartphone app, which features an Instagram-like social feed of immersive places that users can enter. It will progressively become available for other brands to build upon as it expands on the web as well.
While some.place’s earlier NFTs were minted on Flow, future NFTs offered through the platform will be minted on Ethereum scaling network Polygon. Generative AI tools will be included in the mix to help businesses spin up their own custom worlds with less of a lift.
