SilkFred, an online retailer specialising in unique occasion wear and one-of-a-kind fashion from independent brands, has kicked off 2024 by reaching a milestone by serving 2 million customers.
Established in 2011 with a mission to provide a platform for aspiring fashion designers, the online-only destination has successfully navigated a market dominated by retail giants and fast fashion chains.
Co-founder Emma Watkinson stated “Finding new ways to engage customers, especially in this day and age, is never easy but we have a couple of exciting endeavours in the pipeline. We are currently working on [further] developing our AI service ‘Fred’, which gives our customers a personalised shopping experience, our live stream events and our online auction events, where shoppers can snag unique styles for free.”
SilkFred has nearly a million social media followers, a top-rated app, and a track record of nurturing well-known fashion brands such as Never Fully Dressed and Dancing Leopard. Watkinson highlighted their interaction on social media as their virtual shop floor, engaging customers on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
The company’s commitment to innovation and customer-centric strategies is credited for achieving this significant milestone, as it continues to provide an online space for selective shoppers.
