The new e-commerce licensee for Scotch & Soda is United Legwear & Apparel Europe B.V. The business will assume control of Scotch & Soda’s European internet operations, according to a news release issued by Bluestar Alliance.
The brand rights are still held by Bluestar Alliance, the business that brought Scotch & Soda back to life in 2023. In an effort to “strengthen key retail markets and drive digital growth quickly and strategically,” the American company names United Legwear & Apparel Europe as its licensee for the e-commerce operations. United Legwear & Apparel Europe is a reliable and powerful financial partner for Europe, according to Bluestar Alliance.
Additionally, Scotch & Soda has declared that the retail branch in Northern Europe has not been able to reopen. Consequently, all physical stores will be shutting down. There was no agreement reached by the receivers and the principal parties to maintain the stores open in order to sell the clothes inventories.
Not every market that is impacted by the closure of the Northern European branch will see the disappearance of Scotch & Soda. The receivers, for instance, are considering a potential relaunch in Austria and Germany.
Bluestar Alliance highlights in the press release that it has carefully examined the brand store portfolio’s structure and has come to the conclusion that the previous management did not arrange it in the best possible way.
