RYU Apparel Inc., an urban athletic brand engaged in the development, marketing and distribution of athletic apparel and accessories for men and women, will scheduled to open its first store in the US next year.
The Vancouver-based athletic apparel retailer has inked an agreement for 2,800 s/f lease to set up its store at the Lewis Steel Building, Williamsburg in New York.
The upcoming store at 76 North 4th Street will be housed in a five-story rental building near Music Hall of Williamsburg and the Radegast Hall and Biergarten. The New York store is set to open in the first quarter of 2018.
According to RYU CEO and President Marcello Leone, opening of the retailer’s debut store in New York is an important next-step in the brand’s growth as a global name.
“Expansion into the New York City area allows us to create connections and build community in one of the most influential athletic and fashion markets in the world,” said Marcello Leone in a statement issued by the company.
Before entering into USA market, the fashion retailer has been expanding its presence in Canada since the opening of its flagship store in Vancouver at West 4th Avenue in 2015. RYU Apparel has noted quick growth in the first two years of its foray into the Canadian market.
