Ross Stores, the largest US off-price retailer, is all set to expand its physical stores!
In its continued endeavour to further increase the footprint of its bricks-and-mortar stores, the retailer opened 30 new stores in June and July – and all this despite fast-increasing surge in online apparel spending.
The launch of 30 new stores – which include 22 Ross Dress for Less and 8 DD’s Discounts stores – is being seen as a part of Ross’ aim to open 60 new stores in 2021.
In the coming years, however, the retailer, reportedly, intends to open around 2,400 Ross stores as well as 600 DD’s stores. This goal was set by Ross much before the pandemic had started, and Ross has decided to continue with it.
Ever since the pandemic hit the world early last year, there’s been a rapid shift towards online shopping, especially for buying clothes and fashion accessories, and while many retailers have been working hard to strengthen their e-commerce, Ross has been sticking with its pre-pandemic bricks-and-mortar targets.
Even last year, when all the retailers were battling the pandemic, Ross managed to open 40 new stores.
Ross Stores, Inc. today has 1,896 stores in 40 states, the District of Columbia and Guam.
