To grow the innerwear industry in India, Reliance Retail Ventures and Israeli clothing company Delta Galil have partnered to form a 50/50 joint venture. Through the cooperation, Delta Galil will create and produce goods for Reliance’s brands with the goal of improving the Indian market for athletic and intimate apparel over the next 18 months.
Reliance Retail Venture and Israeli clothing company Delta Galil reaffirmed their collaboration to grow the innerwear industry in India. By means of this collaboration, Delta Galil and the joint venture will work together to create and produce goods for Reliance’s well-known brands. According to a Reliance news release, the goal of this new 50/50 JV is to revolutionise the Indian garment sector.
It was previously reported that the retail company owned by Mukesh Ambani has established an equal joint venture with one of the top innerwear manufacturers in the world, an Israeli garment company, to market their global brands and create and produce lingerie items in India. They will go up against Page Industries, the market leader with products like Jockey and Speedo, in this direct competition.
“Delta Galil’s reputation as a global innovator in intimate apparel and activewear aligns seamlessly with Reliance Retail’s commitment to delivering quality and innovative products to Indian consumers. Together, we are poised to elevate the consumer offerings in the intimate apparel and activewear segments across our retail platforms,” said V. Subramaniam, Managing Director, Reliance Retail Ventures Limited.
Within the next year and a half, the products will be made available to the general public at Delta family lifestyle stores and under the Athena brand, according to Isaac Dabah, CEO of Delta Galil.
Several well-known international brands, such as Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, and Columbia, are licensed to Delta Galil. Additionally, it recently partnered with Polo Ralph Lauren and Adidas.
