Reiss Holdings Limited is the most recent retailer to release positive Christmas sales results, announcing on Monday that total group sales increased by 20.3 per cent over the previous year in the nine weeks leading up to the 7th of January.
Store sales increased by 18.5 per cent, providing more proof of the overall robust recovery in physical businesses. Reiss online sales increased by 22.3 per cent in a year when many other successful retailers reported reduced online sales as a result of consumers returning to physical stores.
The company also said that overall sales for the second half of the year were up by 16.1 per cent, with retail sales up by 14.3 per cent and online sales up by 18.3 per cent.
Since the financial year doesn’t complete until 28th January, that doesn’t represent the entire second half, but the company now anticipates full-year sales to be up to 25 per cent year-over-year, which would be another record.
“Reiss has continued to perform strongly over the Christmas period, reflecting the underlying levels of growth experienced throughout 2022. Sales were strong across all product categories, in all territories, and across all channels,” said Christos Angelides, CEO of Reiss.
