Ralph Lauren trousers and motorcycle jackets will be worn by the American Olympians and Paralympians at this year’s opening and closing ceremonies in Paris.
The opening ceremony attire consists of pants and a wool, double-breasted, navy blue jacket with red and white trim. The left chest of the jacket bears the Ralph Lauren insignia. Athletes will wear an oxford shirt with white and navy stripes underneath, the firm revealed on Tuesday.
White jeans and a white motorcycle jacket with red, white and blue accents are part of the closing ceremony ensemble.
“Ralph Lauren is profoundly honoured to define the look of the American delegation as they represent our country in one of the world’s most celebrated and storied events,” said David Lauren, Ralph Lauren’s son and the corporation’s chief branding and innovation officer.
“Ralph Lauren has once again created designs that not only capture the essence of American style but also embody the spirit and pride of Team USA,” said Sarah Hirshland, CEO of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee.
The start of the Olympics is 26th July. The five Olympic rings were affixed to the Eiffel Tower earlier in June, signifying the 50 days until the games began.
