Ireland is the next country on Rains’ ambitious plan to expand throughout Europe. The Danish outerwear lifestyle brand made its début in Dublin on Wicklow Street, the centre of the city’s fashion scene.
Exhibiting its most recent spring/summer 2024 collections of bags, accessories, and outerwear, the area mirrors the brand’s distinctive retail strategy. That is to say, the work was created by longtime collaborator and artist Jacob Egeberg with the goal of “evoking the Rains DNA mixing industrial and architectural elements throughout.”
“The space is the ultimate destination for weather-ready outfitting,” with elements like stainless steel hardware and specially created lighting created for the business. The newest store serves as both the 26th site globally and the flagship for the Irish market. The business has been growing at a rapid rate over the past 12 months, and as part of its 2024 focus on Europe and North America, it plans to open eight more stores in cities including New York, Stockholm, Paris, and Milan.
The business has placed a strong emphasis on the UK, and last summer it launched a second location in London’s well-known Spitalfields neighbourhood. The brand focuses in accessories and outerwear for wet weather. That turned into its third location in London, joining Seven Dials in popular Covent Garden and Coal Drops Yard in Kings Cross.
