Designer Prabal Gurung is partnering with Walmart’s e-commerce portal to launch a new lifestyle brand iMPOWER.
The brand is debuting with a collection of masks – portion of proceeds from which will be donated to the Centre for Disease Control in an effort to combat the pandemic.
The line will include four face masks with unique designs and vibrant patterns including pink leaves, black and blue florals and zebra stripes.
Retailing at a price of US $ 14, the masks are officially available 28 September onwards.
With the holiday collection of apparel and fashion accessories already in the pipeline, Prabal is using social media and the brand’s new Instagram handle, @impowerus to spread the word.
What’s more, each collection of iMPOWER will give back and donate to an organisation for worldwide change.
The brand plans to sell exclusively through Walmart’s website for now, but will move to the physical stores as well eventually.
Walmart presents an excellent opportunity for the brand to reach a wide consumer base as it delivers and retails in 27 countries across the world.
iMPOWER will be produced by Olivet, a company focused on sustainability and will help Prabal incorporate his activism into his creations. He hopes to reach a wider market with the new label as opposed to his eponymous one that is targeted more towards the elite.
