Perry Ellis International, with a focus on expanding its global base and thereby increase the sales of its apparel products, has now targeted a new potential market.
The US’ leading designer, distributor and licensor of a broad line of high-quality men’s and women’s apparels and accessories has entered into an exclusive license agreement with Korea-based company Good People Co. Ltd., engaged in the manufacturing and retailing of men’s and women’s underwear.
The agreement has been inked for men’s underwear and loungewear under the Perry Ellis Portfolio trademark in South Korea. They have plans to launch this line by Fall 2018.
“We’re positively looking to work with design and management teams of Perry Ellis and help them bring their unique brand positioning and commitment to product excellence to the Korean consumers,” avers Yoon Woohwan, CEO of Good People.
Meanwhile, Perry Ellis believes that the retail collaboration with Good People will prove to be a fruitful one for them as it sees a great growth potential in the South Korean fashion retail market.
Supporting the company’s expectations, a report published (reportedly by Korea Federation of Textile Industries) last year stated that the Korean fashion market will cross the 44 trillion won-mark in 2018.
