Outerknown, the sustainable clothing brand by creative director John Moore and world-renowned surfer Kelly Slater, has announced plans to open four new brick-and-mortar retail locations across the United States.
The new retail locations—in Marin, Carlsbad, Palo Alto, and Georgetown, California—are anticipated to exemplify Outerknown’s fundamental values of responsibility and sustainability.
Each location’s design by Starch Creative incorporates eco-friendly components, such as fixtures made from salvaged S.E.A. denim, eco-friendly paperpaste mannequins, reclaimed flooring made from submerged hemlock logs from Nova Scotia, and maritime rope art installations by environmentalist and artist Ethan Estess. Additionally, customers will have the option to add their own customizations to their purchases using an on-site embroidery station.
“These new retail spaces are a true celebration of community,” said Slater.
The popular recycled Apex Trunks by Kelly Slater, the Blanket Shirt, S.E.A. Jeans and Jumpsuits, Climate Beneficial sweatpants and sweatshirts, Regenerative Organic Certified cotton t-shirts and other items will all be available in each store.
