With the opening of its first flagship retail location in the country, American company Original Penguin has made its maiden foray into the Spanish market.
The store, which is situated in the Barrio Salamanca area of Madrid, carries the entire line of men’s sportswear clothing from the brand in addition to accessories including loungewear, headgear, leather goods and undergarments.
The launch is a component of a new licencing agreement with Linea Magna Europa, a subsidiary of Linea Magna that has been in charge of Original Penguin’s operations in Mexico since 2012.
As a result, Linea Magna Europa will now be in charge of the brand’s retail locations, online sales, wholesale distribution, and the first phase of a marketing campaign that includes digital and in-store activations.
Oscar Feldenkreis, president and CEO of Perry Ellis International, the parent company of Original Penguin, stated in a statement that the firm was “thrilled” to introduce the brand to Spain.
