Seasons, Next’s premium online fashion portal, has launched and offers a range of high-end and luxury brands. Announced in September, the internet launch aims to build on the success of the retailer’s acquisition of Reiss, of which it now owns 74 per cent.
Next intends to expand its third-party business by establishing a specialised ecosystem for luxury brands such as Tory Burch, Marc Jacobs, and Ganni.
In addition to expanding its inventory and eventually aiming for the next tier of premium labels, the platform claims that it is working to establish lasting partnerships with the brands it now carries.
The decision was made because Next customers have been purchasing more costly, fewer items.
Next boss Lord Wolfson, stated at the time of the website launch, “We’re definitely seeing more traction at the mid and higher end of our price architecture, than the base. We have discovered that a sizable portion of our 8 million customers are interested in more premium products now that we are beginning to sell more premium brands like Reiss. We believe that by listing these brands on our website, we can better serve these customers.”
Although Seasons will initially only serve the UK, it plans to expand globally by the end of 2025 or the beginning of 2026.
