Sharon Pais, Chief Business Officer at Myntra, has moved to Flipkart to lead the company’s fashion vertical, according to people familiar with the development. Pais replaces Kunal Gupta, who now heads Minutes, the Walmart-backed company’s quick commerce arm, following the exit of Kabeer Biswas. Her official designation will be Head of Business Unit – Flipkart Fashion.
Before joining Myntra as CBO in October 2021, Pais spent nearly eight years at Flipkart in various leadership roles. She joined the e-commerce major in January 2014 as Sales and Revenue Lead for Books, later taking on responsibilities in category marketing for books, general merchandise, and home. Prior to her move to Myntra, she was leading Flipkart’s loyalty and travel division.
Pais’s return to Flipkart comes amid a series of internal leadership movements across both Flipkart and Myntra. The transition also aligns with Flipkart’s efforts to sharpen its focus on profitability as it prepares for a potential initial public offering (IPO) in 2026.
Over the past financial year, Flipkart and its group entities have managed to narrow losses by reducing operational expenses, though revenue growth has remained subdued amid a slowdown in online retail demand.
Myntra, on the other hand, has seen a strong turnaround, with its profit surging nearly 18-fold in FY2024-25, driven by a sharper focus on high-margin fashion and beauty categories. Pais’s move is expected to bolster Flipkart’s fashion business — one of its largest and most strategic verticals — as the company seeks to strengthen its market position ahead of its public listing.
