Marks & Spencer has appointed former Asos managing director Jag Weatherley as its new transformation director for fashion, home and beauty. She will take up the role in January.
Weatherley has held a series of senior leadership positions during her career. She joined Asos in 2012 as head of merchandising, rising to become managing director for Europe and the rest of the world. Prior to that, she spent a decade at Topshop Topman from 2002 to 2012, where she served as senior merchandiser.
John Lyttle, managing director of fashion, home and beauty at M&S, said Weatherley’s appointment represented an important step in finalising the leadership team for the division and accelerating its transformation. He added that she brought “a brilliant set of expertise” as the company sought to build momentum and reshape the business for growth.
Her arrival follows a string of senior appointments within the fashion, home and beauty unit. Last week, M&S confirmed that Jon Rolls, formerly group director of planning and space at Primark, had been named commercial and operations director. Earlier this month, it was also reported that Rachel Higham, the retailer’s chief digital and technology officer, would be stepping down.
M&S has been reshaping its leadership structure as it works to accelerate growth across its clothing, home and beauty categories, while maintaining its strong position in food retailing.
