Italian fashion brand Missoni has linked up with Pigalle for a limited edition capsule collection, to be presented this month.
The collection has been jointly designed by Pigalle’s founder, French designer Stephane Ashpool and Missoni’s Creative Director Angela Missoni, resulting in a juxtaposition of classic Italian craftsmanship and French-style streetwear.
The assortment is rooted in basketball codes, which is quite evident in the covetable mix of Pigalle’s high-end streetwear and Missoni’s signature knitwear and also serves as a tribute to Missoni’s founder Ottavio Missoni, who himself was a sport enthusiast and former Olympic hurdler.
The Italian label delved into its archives from the 1985-2010 period, choosing patterns that have been reworked upon in triangular patchwork fabric and used to produce a selection of Pigalle’s signature items, giving a contemporary, urban twist to Missoni’s timeless style.

The collection features two colour variants, one in beige-yellow and the other in navy-purple. Unconventionality, family values, exquisite craftsmanship and an emphasis on colours, are some of the distinctive traits linking Missoni and Pigalle. It will be available exclusively at Colette in Paris, Dover Street Market in Ginza, Tokyo and at Pigalle stores.
