Perry Ellis International has announced the appointment of Michael Miille to the role of creative director. Miille will lead design for fashion brands Perry Ellis and Original Penguin by Munsingwear.
A veteran of the fashion industry, Mille offers a plethora of design and leadership expertise to the American fashion company. Among other American fashion corporations, he held prominent positions where he oversaw creative teams and assisted in the creation of collections, including Ralph Lauren and PVH.
“Michael’s passion for design and his ability to capture the essence of modern style align perfectly with the values and vision of Perry Ellis International,” said Oscar Feldenkreis, CEO and president, Perry Ellis International.
In an effort to diversify into other markets, Perry Ellis International has signed a number of new distribution agreements for its portfolio of fashion brands, which includes Perry Ellis, Original Penguin, and Farah, in the past 12 months.
The company announced a number of new licencing agreements for the men’s clothing brand Farah in September. These agreements included a new fragrance deal with Fragrance Group London, a new licencing agreement with Poetic Brands Limited for the kids’ line Farah Youth, and a new partnership with Baird Group for the European licence of Farah Tailoring.
More recently, the business signed a new licencing agreement with Peerless Clothing International in October to bring its Perry Ellis and Original Penguin brands into the tailoring market.
“I am honoured to represent two iconic American brands with such rich heritage by setting trends and pushing boundaries,” said Miille, about his new role.
