Maya Tata will now oversee e-commerce marketing for Trent’s flagship brand, Westside. The 37-year-old Daughter of Noel Tata recently exited Tata Digital.
Following her experience at Tata Digital, she is expected to focus on scaling online retail operations and enhancing customer engagement, which are key components of the company’s broader digital and global strategy.
She started her career with the Tata Group under the guidance of Ratan Tata. Before joining Tata Digital, she worked at Tata Capital’s Tata Opportunities Fund.
Westside remains Trent’s largest revenue contributor, accounting for around 40% of the company’s revenue, and is strengthening its omnichannel strategy by integrating physical stores with online shopping.
The brand has also begun its international expansion with its entry into the UAE.
Trent plans to open around 50 new Westside stores annually after adding 52 outlets in FY2026, as it expands its presence in India and overseas. The company reported nearly Rs 19,700 crore in revenue in FY2026 and now operates 1,286 stores across 321 cities, with brands including Westside, Zudio and Star Bazaar.
Commenting on the company’s long-term strategy, Noel N. Tata, Chairman of Trent, said the retailer aims to build Indian brands capable of succeeding in global markets while creating a meaningful international business that complements India’s growing export ambitions.
He further added that Westside’s entry into the UAE marks the beginning of its global expansion, with digital commerce expected to play a central role in supporting the brand’s international growth.
