Massimo Dutti from Inditex has returned to the United States and opened a new location at Aventura Mall in Florida. It expands upon a broader approach taken by the parent business of the brand to prioritise the US, which is its second-largest market.
Twelve years ago, Massimo Dutti opened a store in New York, marking his first foray into the area. However, he finally pulled out completely. Since then, Inditex has only operated in the US through Zara stores, but the Spanish retail behemoth is determined to establish a strong presence there.
In a September lecture at Georgetown University in Washington, CEO Óscar García Maceiras stated that the company was strengthening its ties to the United States by building stores and launching new revenue streams.
One of these turning points was Massimo Dutti’s comeback. The 4,200-square-foot store, whose opening was covered by WWD, has whitewashed walls and natural stones that were created by the company’s in-house architecture team.
The website will also mark the debut of Massimo Dutti’s new Style Advisor by Appointment service, which will provide clients with individualised attention and a special fitting area where a stylist will choose items for them to try on. The media outlet also mentioned a tap-to-pay feature and a click-and-reserve option as additional offerings.
