
Stephen Smy has been appointed as Marks & Spencer’s new managing director for India, a retailer of fashion and lifestyle products. Smy’s new position at Marks and Spencer Reliance India Private Limited will see him in charge of the company’s ongoing retail development and expansion in the nation.
“I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as MD India at Marks and Spencer Reliance India Private Limited,” announced Stephen Smy on Linkedin. Smy was appointed to the position to replace Ritesh Mishra, who left the role earlier in the year.
According to his Linkedin page, Smy has held a number of positions at Marks & Spencer, including head of trading projects and store launch. Since taking on his new position, Smy has visited India to supervise multiple development initiatives.
“Great week seeing stores across the country but the highlight was the launch of our Renewal Store at Inorbit Mall Vadodara,” wrote Smy on Linkedin this week. “Great team work across the business has delivered a transformed store for our customers.”
