In collaboration with the employment charity The King’s Trust, Marks & Spencer is commemorating 20 years of its Marks & Start initiative.
The program has helped 30,000 people enter the workforce over the last 20 years, including 12,000 young people who are having trouble finding work.
Two-thirds of young people still encounter obstacles to employment, with mental health being the most prevalent, according to new study from the heritage British store. The statistics show that one in three people find this difficult.
The shop and YoungMinds, a youth mental health charity, have been working together for more than a year. Together, they have raised US $ 3.31 million to help young people, with the goal of raising US $ 6.36 million in three years.
Marks & Spencer CEO Stuart Machin, who began working in his local supermarket at the age of 16, is promoting teamwork to break down the obstacles that job seekers confront.
