Spanish retailer Mango is collaborating with cancer research organisation FERO Foundation for a solidarity collection. They’ve collaborated before, and the funds from this campaign will go towards breast cancer research.
In its fifth year, Mango will launch ‘Made of Seams’ concept, developed in part with the McCann creative agency. The theme recoups scars as part of a life’s journey. The launch coincides with Breast Cancer Awareness Month which takes place in October and with International Breast Cancer Day which takes place on 19th October.
The Mango solidarity collection, which is now available on the Mango website and at select stores in twenty different countries, includes five T-shirts with different designs for the Woman line.
Some of the garments in the Mango X FERO collection feature exposed seams and labels with a message that refers to scars being stitches that demonstrate ‘zest for life’.
Over the past five years, one million euros in proceeds has been contributed by Mango to cutting-edge breast cancer research. Through the Advanced Molecular Diagnostics Programme, they’ve been exploring how to improve the diagnosis of the disease. They’ve also founded a FERO-Mango Scholarship, which is aimed at promoting careers of young researchers in breast cancer research.
