Mama & Papas, the UK-based nursery and kidswear retailer, has some plans to expand globally!
The retailer has signed distribution partners and agents in 10 countries across Central and Eastern Europe. The countries include the likes of Russia, Poland and Czech Republic.
The kidswear label is also close to signing deals covering another 5 countries in the Balkan Peninsula. Besides, there are plans to explore similar deals in the Middle East and Far East.
Meanwhile, the retailer also said that it has plans to double its overseas sales over the next year.
The agreements are seen as a part of retailer’s long-term goal to grow into the ‘global nursery brand of choice’.
Talking of overseas demand, Johan Meyfroidt, International General Manager, said that there has always been strong overseas demand for British heritage brands such as Mama & Papas, adding further “our products have sold successfully in a number of markets for decades.”
Johan also said that it is important for the retailer to tailor its approach to suit local market dynamics as anything that works well in Poland may not work in Malaysia.
The retailer is also, reportedly, continuing to expand its presence in the UK market both through online business and its standalone stores.
Founded in 1981, Mama & Papas, besides selling kidswear, also sells baby products and maternity wear, amongst others.
