
Laurent Claquin has been named group chief brand officer by French luxury giant Kering, with effect from 1st July 2024.
He will become a member of the executive committee and answer to Jean-Marc Duplaix, Kering’s deputy CEO overseeing operations and finance, the business announced in a press release.
Kering went on to say that the position was created with the intention of strengthening the company’s corporate brand’s attractiveness as well as its prominence and power. Laurent Claquin will be in charge of defining and coordinating Kering’s communications, both internally and publicly, across all regions, according to a single editorial schedule and strategy. This will be necessary to provide consistency in messaging across all touchpoints.
The business went on to say that Claquin will help the Houses by creating high-profile events that promote their projects and by stepping up their communications efforts as necessary.
Since 2012, Claquin has led Kering Americas as its president. He became a member of the team in 2005 and took on various leadership positions, such as senior vice president of communications and head of corporate social responsibility. From 2017 to 2018, he served as CEO of Tomas Maier as well.
After working as a consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers, Claquin went on to hold a number of positions at the Jeu de Paume, the Centre Pompidou, and as the chief of staff for the French minister of communication and culture. He holds degrees from Université Paris VIII, Exeter University, and ESC Rennes School of Business.
