At the opening of the first Kickers store at Chennai’s V R Mall on Sunday, Kothari Industrial Corporation Ltd. Managing Director J Rafiq Ahmed told the media that the company is not only opening a store but also introducing the French brand Kickers to India for the first time. The company plans to open roughly ten stores before March 2025, with two more to open in Qatar. He was hopeful that ‘Kickers’ would become a standard for international retail in India.
For the sale and marketing of the “Kickers” brand of footwear in India and abroad, Kothari Industrial Corporation Ltd. joined forces with France’s Royer Group.
The collaboration is a major turning point since Kothari will not only handle distribution in India but will also start producing locally with plans to export to Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the Gulf states. For both men and women, ‘Kickers’ will provide a selection of sandals, chappals, boots and sneakers.
Etienne Rolland-Piegue, the Consul General of France in Chennai and Puducherry, was among the high-profile guests during the grand opening of the first “Kickers” store at V R Mall, indicating a solid Indo-French partnership.
