
Klarna, the Swedish fintech firm that provides online financial services, has acquired the online retail start-up Hero.
With this acquisition, Klarna now aims to introduce Hero to all its 250,000 retail partners, allowing their in-store teams to immediately become content creators – offering reviews and real-time advice.
There couldn’t be anything better than providing the best of in-store shopping to the online experience for consumers.
The acquisition also means that all of Hero’s staff will now be a part of Klarna.
Established in 2015, the London and New York-based Hero aims to create a more personal and convenient way of shopping – bringing the concept of in-person customer service to e-commerce.
The social shopping start-up’s clientele comprises fashion retaielrs like Levi’s and Harvey Nichols, while it shares many retail partners with Klarna’s current portfolio that includes the likes of Nike and JD Sports.
Klarna has more than 3,500 employees, most of them working at the headquarters in Stockholm and Berlin. In 2019, the company had handled about US $ 35 billion in online sales.
