While most brands have put their plans of expansion on hold owing to the losses incurred due to lockdowns, iconic fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld’s eponymous label is defying all odds to open its maiden standalone store in Malaysia.
Located at the Pavilion shopping centre in Kuala Lumpur, the store is all set to capture the fashion-savvy population of Malaysia with the latest collections.
Although the store will offer high fashion for both men and women, the focus remains on women’s clothing with the release of the Spring/Summer 2020 collection ’21 Rue Saint-Guillaume’ that pays tribute to the late designer’s home as well as the Bauhaus art movement.
The store breathes Karl Lagerfeld’s design ideology with a modern aesthetic.
It features floor-to-ceiling glass doors and panels, wooden flooring, steel racks and colourful sectional carpets to draw attention to the clothing.
Although the brand can be accessed through Karl.com in 96 countries across the world, Karl Lagerfeld has more than 100 exclusive outlets globally with flagship stores in New York, Paris, London, Moscow, Dubai and Shanghai.
