The decision comes in the wake of retailer’s announcement made in February wherein it expressed its plans to shut down 8 more stores.

Corroborating further on the decision to not close any more stores, Pippa Wicks, Executive Director, John Lewis & Partners said that any further store closures would not be appropriate for its customers or partners.
Here it is imperative to state that the clothing retailer has already downsized the number of its stores from 51 to 31 in last one year.
Pippa also, reportedly, said that though bricks-and-mortar stores are important, yet what’s more relevant is to have well-invested stores in the right place.
She added that the stores proposed for closure were not financially viable over the next few years.
John Lewis has reopened most of its non-essential stores in England and Wales from yesterday (12 April) – including reopening of changing rooms and shoe-fitting for children.
