John Lewis has appointed Anna Milne as its new Director of Merchandising, a role newly created on the company’s management board.
Milne brings nearly 20 years of retail experience, having held merchandising roles at House of Fraser, ASOS, Jules B, and The Outnet. She most recently spent more than three years as Merchandising Director at Net-a-Porter and Mr Porter.
Milne will report to Vikki Kavanagh, Chief Commercial Officer, and described her appointment as “a full circle moment,” having grown up in Newcastle where John Lewis was a key part of the high street. She expressed delight at joining the Partnership, highlighting its focus on people, community, and commercial excellence.
Kavanagh commented that Milne would be “a fantastic addition to the team,” noting her extensive experience and stating that her leadership would be vital in ensuring John Lewis shops are stocked with “a fantastic assortment of inspiring products.”
The appointment comes as John Lewis strengthens its leadership team. Last week, Helen Webb OBE was named the company’s new Chief People Officer, effective 24 November 2025. Webb brings over three decades of experience in senior leadership across retail and other sectors, with expertise in people strategy, organisational development, and cultural transformation.
