Chinese e-commerce company JD.com Inc. has launched its first luxury e-commerce platform Toplife to serve the high-end consumers.
Toplife will provide space to brands to sell directly to consumers through an end-to-end luxury e-commerce ecosystem.
“The launch of the luxury e-commerce platform is an outcome of our deep understanding of high-end consumers. It will offer a truly premium shopping experience to the consumers,” said Richard Liu, Chairman and CEO of JD.com in a statement issued by the company.
The introduction of the new website has come as a counter step against the Alibaba’s Luxury Pavilion, which was launched in August this year.
Leading global brands from fashion, jewellery, watches, health and beauty, home furnishings, cosmetics, and electronics segments will sell their products through Toplife in China.
La Perla, Emporio Armani, Rimowa (LVMH), B&O Play and Trussardi partnered with Toplife. Few other big brands will be added in the coming weeks, reports suggest.
Value-added services, including 24-hour customer support, brand-building and marketing resources from JD.com will be given to brands on Toplife to increase their sales.
Additionally, in-house fashion consultants of Toplife will suggest customers of luxury products on their purchases to ensure a smooth shopping experience.
