
Wacoal, which is Japan’s premium lingerie brand, plans to invest nearly US $ 14.5 million in next 3 years so as to enhance its presence in India.
While confirming this through a statement, the brand said that it aims to increase its outlets in India from 11 to 70. Besides, much effort will be initiated to expand the number of shop-in-shops to 80 across 30 Indian cities.
The lingerie brand will enhance its sales in Indian market by partnering with various e-commerce platforms assisted by an intensive cross-platform marketing and a PR campaign.
Tomoyasu Ito, Representative Director, President and Corporate Officer, Wacoal Corp., expressed delight and said that ever since Wacoal’s entry to India back in 2015, the brand has been witnessing phenomenal growth.
He further added that by expanding its store presence in India, Wacoal intends to fully tap the potential of Indian market and further bolster its position as a major entity in country’s luxury lingerie market.
“Wacoal is today an integral part of India’s innerwear scene, thereby projecting India as a mature market with a desire for the innovative and timeless collections of Wacoal,” said Tomoyasu Ito.
