
J.Jill Inc. a retailer for women’s apparel in the USA, has appointed Courtney O’Connor as its senior vice president and chief merchandising officer effective 30th June. O’Connor succeeds Shelley Liebsch who left the company to pursue other opportunities.
“She is a veteran merchant and a well-rounded merchant who has a deep experience of elevating product assortments to allow brands to deliver the best in products through consumer expectation.” Mary Ellen Coyne, CEO and president of J.Jill, said in a statement. “I am excited to welcome her as we continue to enhance our assortment and enter our next chapter of growth.”
“O’Connor has over 20 years of experience in merchandising for lifestyle and luxury apparel brands, with a solid foundation in creating strategies across retail, wholesale and e-commerce. Most recently she was chief merchandising officer of Club Monaco where she was responsible for major initiatives and the optimization of the brand’s production cycle.
Before joining J.Jill, O’Connor was in leadership positions at Public Clothing Company and Ralph Lauren, where she had global responsibilities for merchandising women’s apparel and accessories. Before that, she was a buyer and/or merchandising executive at J.Crew, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Neiman Marcus.
O’Connor’s appointment comes as J.Jill is looking to expand the brand and path forward growth opportunities through improved product strategy and customer positioning.
