American multi-brand, multi-channel, specialty retailer Apparel maker J. Crew announced to open value-driven store (J. Crew Mercantile,) the first in a new chain of retail spots that will try to drum up sales among budget-conscience shoppers. J. Crew Mercantile will carry classic J. Crew women’s, men’s, and children clothes that were once only available in J. Crew Factory stores. The collection will now be carried by both concepts. The J. Crew Factory website revealed that more locations will open soon.
It will debut by the end of July in a Dallas shopping centre in July, and will feature merchandise that will make the collection even more accessible to customers. In June, the company fired 175 of its corporate employees, and in the first quarter of 2015, the company saw a decline in sales and revenue from its mainline though its Madewell line continues to see success.
