Indx Kids, the UK trade show for children’s fashion, is set to showcase the latest trends in kidswear, with a strong emphasis on sustainability, gender neutrality, and conscious consumption. The event, taking place from 2nd-3rd July in the West Midlands, will feature over 140 brands offering clothing, footwear, loungewear, and more.
One of the prominent trends in kidswear is the focus on organic fabrics and sustainability. Many brands are prioritising eco-conscious materials and highlighting their supply chains to meet the growing demand for ethical fashion. This trend extends beyond organic fabrics and encompasses supply chain transparency, circular initiatives, and support for environment-related charities.
Another significant trend is gender-neutral fashion, mirroring the inclusivity movement in the adult fashion industry.
Kidswear brands are challenging stereotypes by offering unisex colour palettes that go beyond traditional pink and blue. One of the brand’s founders mentioned involving children in the colour selection process, adding a bright and cheerful touch to the collection.
Moreover, brands are focusing on interactive experiences that engage children with the natural world. They are introducing characters and games that educate kids about their surroundings. Hatley, for instance, will present a ‘Books to Bed’ sleepwear range at Indx, which allows children to read books and see illustrations on their sleepwear, creating an interactive and educational bedtime experience.
Indx Kids provides a platform for brands to showcase their efforts in embracing sustainability, inclusivity, and interactive engagement in the kidswear sector. The event serves as a reflection of the evolving interests and values of parents and the broader demand for conscious consumption in the fashion industry.
